Maurine Newton, 72, of West Covina, California. She was the daughter of Lola Fay Bates and Zane Eugene Heitsche.

Funeral services for Destanie Tawana Lejuna Hill are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Services for Virginia “Jence” Welch, 97, of Eustace, were held Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Pastor Mark Frizzell officiating.

Dennis Wayne Shaw, 74, of Joshua, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Baylor, Scott, & White All Saints Medical Center.Dennis was born in Dallas.

Services for Jean Clowers, 89, of Grand Saline, were held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro.

Funeral services for Vickie Tylene Hamilton, 62, of Wills Point, were held 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Robert Glen Eaton, 80, of Edgewood, passed away Jan. 13, 2022, at Crestwood Nursing Home. He was born July 30, 1941, in Grand Saline, to the late Robert (Choc) Lester Eaton and Ola Faye Wagner. He was raised in Edgewood, where he lived most of his life. Robert served in the United States Navy following high school. He married Sharon Cook on March 29, 1963, and they lived in Edgewood, where they raised their children.

Services for Mr. Marshall Slape, 77, of Allen, were held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan.

Funeral services for Marvin E. Tave, 81, of Wills Point, were held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at True Believers Baptist Church in Wills Point. Services were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Masks were required during services.
