Terry Hunter, 72, of Edgewood, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, at his home. Terry was born July 28, 1951, in Dallas to Bobby Joe and Bobbie Irene Ferguson Hunter.

He attended Wills Point High School, then moved to Edgewood where he made his home. On August 20, 1977, Terry married Sheila Kay Hindman. Terry and Sheila owned and operated Hunter Custom Homes and were also cattle ranchers. He was a member of Willow Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Terry was an Honorary member of the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department after serving as a member for many years. He was instrumental in building the Edgewood Fire Station and the Edgewood City Park.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Dale Hunter; son-in-law Ricky Higdon; and grandson, Colby Calvert. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Hindman Hunter of Edgewood; sons: Terry Hunter Jr and wife, Crystal, and Mark Hunter and wife, Sheri, of Edgewood; daughters: Kristin Spizzirri and husband, Tyson, of Edgewood; and April Smoot and husband, Kevin; brothers: Ronnie Hunter and Jimmy Hunter: sister- in-law LuAnn Alexander and husband,David; grandchildren: Ashton Hunter; Jakeb Hunter and fiancé Natalie Johnso; Lizzie Hunter, Grayson Hunter, Ayden Spizzirri, Tyler Willis, Tara Blackmon and husband, Mikey, Cade Calvert, Chance Higdon, Hunter Higdon, Dylan Smoot; and great grandson: Mason Blackmon.

Terry donated his body to the Willed Body Program at UT Southwestern. Per Terry’s request, no service will be provided.
