Lee Ray Foster, 85, of Forney passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Sunnyvale. He was born on September 27, 1939, in Canton to Joseph Benjamin Foster and Sarah Lovie Lawley Foster.

Lee grew up in Canton and later moved to the Dallas area. He was Baptist by faith. Lee joined the Army and served in the Army Signal Corp.

While home on leave, he met his future wife, Shirley Cooley, on a blind date. The couple married on January 17, 1965, after Lee was discharged from service.

Together, they built a beautiful life, full of memories and love. Lee worked for Merchant Freight for 26 years before retiring.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Lee’s best days were days filled with family, laughter and love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lovie Foster; brothers: Hollon Foster, J. W. Foster, Avell Foster, Lloyd Foster; and sisters, Evelin Reed, JoAnn Haddock, Daphanell Wilson, and Thelma Poston.

Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Shirley Foster; daughter, Peggy Deeann Foster of Forney; son, Scott Foster and wife, Lisa of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Carolyn Diann Gore of Plano; adopted in love, Karri List; grandchildren: Mark and Rebekah Ramsey, Kyle and Emily Ramsey, Scott Allan and Lacy Foster, Heather and Dustin Hash, Jessica Gore and Chris; great grandchildren: Brayden Foster, Jackson Foster, Amelia Ramsey, Preston Ramsey, Jade Moreno, Jason Moreno, Weston Hash; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

A service celebrating his life was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating.

Pallbearers: Mark Ramsey, Kyle Ramsey, Scott A. Foster, Jessica Gore, Buddy Burgess and Jack Foster.

Avisitation was held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Lee was laid to rest at Haven of Memories Memorial Park Cemetery in Canton.
