James Daniel Clair, 82, of Edgewood, Texas, passed away on Sept. 21, 2021, in Tyler.
James was born Feb. 4, 1939, in Wills Point, Texas, to Daniel James Clair and Nynah Lucile Ross Clair. He was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1957. On Aug. 22, 1964, he married Rachel Beatrice Stone at First Baptist Church in Wills Point. James had worked in various places. He had been a butcher at Ebarb’s Meat Market, A&P Grocery, produce sales and farming. He was a founder of the Quinlan Sports Association and an avid sports fan. James was a member of New Journey Church of God in Edgewood.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles “Spike” Clair and other relatives.
James is survived by his wife, Rachel Clair, of Edgewood; two sons, James Daniel “Jim” Clair, Jr. and wife, Sherri, of Edgewood and Kevin Dewayne Clair and wife Mickie, of Winfield, Kansas; daughter, Amy Williams and husband, Brian, of Fort Worth; brother, Gerald Don Clair, of Lake Tawakoni; 11 grandchildren, Riggin Clair and wife, Leah, Tyler Clair and wife, Shania, Mackenzie Williams, Joseph D. Clair, Brandt Williams, Aaron Clair, Reece Williams, Bennett Williams, Caitlyn Berry, Chad Carsner and Cody Carsner; six great-grandchildren, Braelynn Clair, Gannon Clair, Case Berry, Collin Berry, Cohen Carsner and Cash Carsner along with nieces, nephews and other relatives..
