Frances Geraldine Crawford Morton passed away in Dallas, on Nov. 27, 2021, at the age of 93.

She was born in Detroit, on Aug. 25, 1928, to parents, William Frank Crawford and Lillie Ellian Dean. She married Robert Lawrence Morton at Tyler Street Methodist Church in Dallas on March 26, 1954. They were married for 58 years prior to his passing in 2012. Together they had two children, Frances Kathleen Morton and Robert Lawrence Morton II. Geraldine graduated Leonard High School in 1946. She was a bank teller at First National Bank of Richardson and Richardson Heights Bank and Vice President for Chisum Bank of Plano. She had many hobbies throughout her life, some included sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren, crotchet, and cross stitch. She also spent time collecting and later making porcelain dolls, including their clothes, and won a blue ribbon at the State Fair of Texas. She spent many summers taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with them watching old movies and musicals, taking them swimming and other activities, and she made the best chocolate milkshakes. Geraldine also loved spending time watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren through the years in various sporting events and school activities. She also enjoyed her rose garden, with yellow roses being her favorite. Geraldine was a grand lady, making friends out of acquaintances wherever she went, and she loved her family tremendously. She will be missed.

Mrs. Morton is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Morton; parents, Frank and Lillie Crawford; sister, Dorothy Crawford and brothers, Billy Frank Crawford and Jackie Van Crawford.

She is survived by her two children, daughter, Frances Kathleen White of Edgewood, Texas; son, Robert Lawrence Morton II and wife Debbie of Palestine, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Horrell and husband, Jeff of Canton, Texas; Gerald Wayne Lasater II and wife Casey of Edgewood, Texas; Nanoela DeAnne Gilkerson and husband Jason of Katy, Texas; and Robert Lawrence Morton III of Spring, Texas; great-grandchildren, Hobie-Joe Wayne Horrell, Haley Elizabeth Culpepper and husband John, Ayla Cheyenne Lasater, Colby Wayne Lasater, Lucas James Lasater, Ariel Rebecca Hays, and Coraly Isabel “Izzy” Lasater; brother, James Crawford of Denison, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 701 North Cedar Street, Leonard, Texas 75452. The family welcomed friends during a visitation on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at the funeral home. Pallbearers for Geraldine’s service were Robert Lawrence Morton III, Gerald Wayne Lasater II, Jeffrey Wayne Horrell, Jason Lee Gilkerson, Hobie-Joe Wayne Horrell, Colby Wayne Lasater, and Lucas James Lasater.
