Charles Lance Taylor
1961-2022
Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Charles Lance Taylor, of Houston, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at the age of 61.
Charles was born on May 30, 1961, to Curtis Leslie and Minnie Mozelle Taylor in Dallas. He was raised around the world up until the age of 10 years old where he was raised in Houston. Charles served seven years as a Merchant Marine Bosun Mate before serving in the Army 23 years where he retired in 2006. During his time served in the Army, Charles was awarded decorations, medals, and badges in the following achievements: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th award), Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Retired List Garde SFC, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd award) along with Driver and Mechanic Badge. He enjoyed going fishing, motorcycle riding and spending time sharing stories with his Brothers in Arms.
Charles leaves behind his father, Curtis and Veronica Taylor of London, England; brothers, Michael Taylor and Sissy of Mesquite, and Terry Taylor and Danna of Fate; Aunt Ozelle Wilcoxson of Wills Point; nieces, Megan and A.J. Almeda; nephews, Chance Taylor; Brandon Taylor, and Austin Taylor; great nephew, Gavin Almeda, and a host of many cousins.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Mozelle Sledge Taylor.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at 11a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Family accepted guests one hour prior.
