Billy Wayne Hudson

Billy Wayne Hudson was born September 18, 1933, in Canton where he was raised and then returned to live there after his retirement. He and his wife, Joanna, also lived in Seagoville, Dallas, and Cedar Creek. He worked for Gibson Products until his retirement. He was a Past Master Mason and a dedicated Shriner. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood-working, water-skiing, spending time at the lake, traveling and RV’ing.
Billy passed away at the age of 90 on August 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Hudson, sister, Jean Ray; and his parents, Willie Walter Hudson and Attrice Talley Hudson McWilliams.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Joanna Hudson of Canton; son, Dennis Hudson of Kingwood, two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Charlie Wood of Round Rock and Carol and Carl Alvarez of Canton; seven grandchildren, Connor Hudson, Chad Wood (Kelli), Angie Wagener, Erin Castillo (Ruben), Eric Beasley, Zack Hudson (Carrie) and Casey Cook (Amber); and 10 great-grandchildren, Foster, Ella, Hadley, Cole, Luke, Ruben, Hudson, Kai, Bodie, Callan.
A celebration of life was held for Billy Hudson on Sept.7 at Holly Springs Methodist Church with Pastor Roy James officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Children’s.
