Betty Youngblood Edwards, 93, passed away on August 16, 2022, in Rockwall.

Betty was born on October 24, 1928, in Wills Point to David and Lucille Youngblood, where she was raised and attended Wills Point schools. She worked in the secretarial fields along with sales during her time. On August 6, 1949, she married Leon Edwards in Rockwall and started her family. They were married for 55 years before his passing in 2004. She was a member of St. Johns church in Terrell and was an active instrumental part of the formation and planning of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Quinlan. She served as Charter President on the building committee and was a part of various other positions in her time there. Betty was a member of the Alter Society after moving back to Irving at St. Luke’s Church. Betty loved fishing, especially with her uncle, James, at Rockport.

Betty is survived by sons, Gary Edwards and wife, Sandi, of Coleman, OK, and Greg Edwards; brother, James of Wills Point; six grandchildren: Jason Edwards and wife, Andrea; Amber McCarthy and husband, Richard; Dustin Edwards; David Edwards and wife, April; Randy Edwards and wife, Brittany, and Ryan Edwards; six great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Lucille Youngblood; sisters, Goldie Richards and Charlotte Youngblood, and brother, DA (Dink) Youngblood.
