Texas District 2 State Representative Jill Dutton presented a proclamation to the City of Van before introducing guest speaker, Texas District 2 State Senator Bob Hall, during the Veterans Memorial Dedication Ceremony Nov. 11 at McMillan Park in Van. The City of Van unveiled its first monument honoring veterans.

Before announcing that the burn ban in Van Zandt County was being lifted, VZC Fire Marshal had another announcement to make to the VZC Commissioners Court during its regular meeting Nov. 6.

Sean Davis announced his resignation as Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Nov. 6 during the regular meeting of the VZC Commissioners Court. His resignation will become effective in January 2025. Following the lead of results nationwide Nov. 5 during the General Election, Republicans in Van Zandt County made a strong showing as final voting results were released by the VZC Clerk’s office.
