The Class of 2024 graduates at Martins Mill High School received their diplomas during their graduation ceremony May 23 in the MMHS Gymnasium. The Presentation of Colors was conducted by the Tyler Civil Air Patrol at the beginning of the graduation ceremony.

Grand Saline holds graduation indoors due to inclement weather

A change in location did not dampen the spirits of those involved for the Grand Saline High School Class of 2024 graduation ceremony May 24. With graduation moved from Carter Elliott Field at Indian Memorial Stadium to the GSHS Gymnasium, GSHS Class of 2024 Graduating Senior Payton Butterfield welcomed those in attendance.

Gooden announces Town Hall Meeting

Red Cross opens shelter in Grand Saline

The American Red Cross opened a shelter May 29 for residents affected by extreme weather in Grand Saline. The shelter is located at the Grand Saline Elementary School at 405 Stadium Drive.

VZC well represented at Texas Republican Convention

The Texas Republican State Convention was held in San Antonio May 2325 and was attended by 6,700 delegates from across the state. This convention is the largest political convention held in the U.S., even larger than the Republican or Democratic National conventions.

VZC residents encouraged to report storm damage

The severe weather that has moved through Van Zandt County since April 26, 2024, left many residents with property damage due to high winds and heavy rainfall. The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is encouraging those impacted by the storm to report damage through its Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) Damage Survey.
