editor@terrelltribune.com A truck driver has been charged with five counts of manslaughter after a deadly crash on I-20 that killed six people on Saturday afternoon. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Alexis Gonzalez-Companioni fell asleep at the wheel, causing his semitruck to plow into stopped traffic on the highway, causing a chain reaction.

Library announces donation of children’s table

The Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library in Canton recently announced the donation of a table for the children’s area of the library. According to library director Tonja Garten, the table was donated in memory of Kathleen Stanford Barber on what would have been her 100th birthday on July 5, 2025.

Catching fish can be a challenging endeavor especially when conditions change quickly and patterns that have been as constant as the Polar star fail to produce bites. Such was the case with a striper fishing trip at Lake Texoma last week with my friends at Striper Express.
