Lady Mustangs race past Trinity Christian

The Martins Mill Lady Mustangs lit up the scoreboard Friday night at home against the visiting Cedar Hill Trinity Christian Tigers, scoring an easy 83-46 win behind a balanced offensive attack. The Martins Mill offense was a model of consistency throughout against a program coming off an 18-8 season that included a trip to the Area round of the playoffs, scoring double-digit points in all four quarters on their way to a 37-point win.

Mustangs win Bryan Mewbourn Tournament

The Martins Mill Mustangs hosted their signature event last week, welcoming teams from across the area for the annual Bryan Mewbourn Tournament Dec. 16-18.

Grier hits seven threes in Eagle win

The Canton Eagles faced a tall task Dec. 17, clashing with perennial playoff qualifiers Commerce in a non-district showdown. Canton would have to battle down to the wire in the contest, fending off a furious second half comeback bid by the Tigers to pull out a 47-45 win.

My sister always made a cheese ball for her daughter (my beautiful niece) at Christmas. Now that my sister has passed away, I am taking on the cheese ball duties, and hope I can measure up! KC (my niece) is thankful for my efforts and can’t wait to taste it. Try it yourself, and let me know what you think.

Savory Holiday Cheese Ball

2 8-ounce blocks of cream cheese at room temp 1 package EITHER dry Italian dressing or Ranch dressing 2 green onion stalks, chopped fine (both green and white parts) 1 bunch garlic (the whole bulb, not just one clove) ½ cup finely chopped pecans OR 1 tsp finely chopped parsley 1 small jar chopped chipped beef Olive oil for drizzling With a sharp knife, cut off the very top of the garlic bulb. Drizzle with a little olive oil.
