A resolution and a contract calling and ordering a city election to be held on Saturday, May 7, were approved unanimously by the Van City Council during their meeting Feb. 10.
One person has died after a shooting involving a Van Zandt County woman and deputies from the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s office. Van Zandt County Sheriff Steve Hendrix released a press release noting that a 38-yearold woman fired on deputies, which ultimately lead to her death.
