VZC Jail receives ‘Certificate of Compliance’ from the state

Drop in gas prices reported across Texas

Average gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 8.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.17/g Oct. 24, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 7.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 13.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 4.0 cents in the last week and stands at $5.30 per gallon.

Eaglettes clinch district title, make history

Canton Eaglette players and coaches were not shy about their goals entering the 2022 season, putting a district title near the top of their lists. Canton reached that goal in impressive fashion over the past week of play, notching wins over Brownsboro and Van to finish the regular season with a 36-9 mark, a district championship and the program’s first-ever perfect run through district on their resume.
