No action taken on new social media policy

Following a lengthy discussion that involved council members as well as some citizens sharing their views, the Van City Council decided to take no action on a proposed new City of Van Social Media policy during its Nov. 15 regular monthly meeting.

The Van Zandt County Library, located at 317 First Monday Lane in Canton, has announced that it will serve as a drop-off location for letters to Santa until Dec. 16. Library officials stated, “You can bring your own letter from home or fill one out at the front desk. We will then deliver them to the post office to be sent to the North Pole!”

With the 2A volleyball regular season and playoffs now in the rearview, coaches from across the state released their lists of Superlative and All-District rec- Fruitvale more than held its own competing in a District 12-2A alongside Cumby, North Hopkins, Como-Pickton, Alba- Golden and Boles as 11 Lady Cat players earned either All-District First Team, All-District Second Team or Honorable Mention All-District nods.
