Nov. 10-13 saw the fourth annual Mill Creek Cup tournament for The American Carp Society being held in Canton, and once again this great city over-delivered with great hospitality, local support and encouragement.

Retiring Van Zandt County Judge Don Kirkpatrick received an appreciation plaque from the VZC Commissioners Court during its regular meeting Dec. 21. The plaque was presented to Kirkpatrick by VZC Pct. 2 Commissioner Virgil Melton Jr. on behalf of the commissioners’ court. Edgewood native Dylan Wheeler raises $13,000 for Toy Drive

news@vanzandtnews.com Dylan Wheeler, an Edgewood native with over 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, did his part to spread Christmas cheer recently, as he, with the help of friends, raised over $13,000 for a local toy drive. After weeks of gathering funds, Wheeler and company visited the Canton Walmart this past month, where they bought over 1000 toys, including bicycles, sports equipment, and more, for the Tunes for Tots event.
