Stretch run for potential football playoff positions continues

While the Van Vandals have already clinched their berth for the upcoming state football playoffs, four other schools are trying to punch their tickets as well, but it will be more than likely that those playoff hopes won’t be finalized until after the final regular season game is played Friday, Nov. 3.
Following an emotional ‘Senior Night’victory over the Brownsboro Bears Oct. 20, the Canton Eagles listened to the playing of the school song. Upcoming fall festival and Halloween events are scheduled in the coming days for Wills Point, Canton, and Edgewood and they include the following: Wills Point BOO on the Bricks The Wills Point BOO on the Bricks is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Action tabled by commissioners’ court regarding purchase of radios

At the conclusion of their open session during their regular meeting Oct. 11, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court tabled action on the purchase of radios as part of their long-term agreement with technology company L3 Harris based in Melbourne, Florida.
