Early Voting starts Monday for WPISD, Fruitvale elections

davidb@vanzandtnews.com Early Voting for the Saturday, May 2 Wills Point ISD School Board and City of Fruitvale elections will begin Monday, April 20, and continue through Tuesday, April 28. In the City of Fruitvale, Brandon Russell is running unopposed in the Mayor’s race, but there is also an alcohol-related issue on the ballot as well that reads as follows, ‘The legal sale of mixed beverages within the city limits of Fruitvale, Texas.’ Early Voting in the City of Fruitvale election will be at the Hallie Randall Community Center, located at 1063 VZCR 1129, from 1-5 p.m.

Candidates in all four upcoming Republican Party Runoff Elections in Van Zandt County are scheduled to participate in a Political Forum scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, at the VZC Farm Bureau Event Center located at 220 Burnett Trail in Canton.

Tigers play host to District 13-4A Meet

The Wills Point Tiger track and field program were able to enjoy the comforts of home for a second consecutive week April 8, following up their annual Bluebird Relays April 2 by hosting the District 13-4A Meet.

GS, Edgewood compete in District 15-3A Meet

The Grand Saline and Edgewood varsity track and field teams competed in the District 15-3A Track and Field Meet in Eustace April 8, 9. The results of the district meet were as follows for Grand Saline and Edgewood: Varsity Boys’ Division 100-Meter Dash: Jett Taylor, Grand Saline, first place, 10.66.
