davidb@vanzandtnews.com Following much discussion before a standing-room only crowd during its regular meeting Feb. 12, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to table a proposed $145 million Bond Election until at least November.

Lady Tigers outlast Paris in bi-district round

The Wills Point Lady Tigers got off to a strong start in post-season play Feb. 11 as they outlasted Paris, 31-27. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Maddy Allen with 10 points. The Lady Tigers advanced to the Area round of the Class 4A state playoffs against Mabank Feb. 13 in Canton, but results were not available at press time.

Boys’ state basketball playoffs begin this week

Van Zandt County will be well represented when the boys’ state basketball playoffs begin this week with the bi-district round. The Grand Saline Indians will meet the Troup Tigers in a Class 3A bi-district game Feb.
