Burn ban revoked by VZC Fire Marshal’s office

The 30-day burn ban, implemented by the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court on Jan. 9, was revoked Jan. 26 by the VZC Fire Marshal’s office, according to a letter addressed to VZC citizens by VZC Fire Marshal Kevin Palmer.

Edgewood trustees hold first meeting of 2026

Two charged with cruelty to animals

On Saturday, Jan. 24, the SPCA of Texas’ Animal Cruelty Investigations (ACI) Unit assisted the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of a man and woman who allegedly mistreated a dog on their property.
