Texas House District 2 runoff election set for Jan. 30

During the regular meeting of the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court Nov. 22, VZC Clerk Susan Strickland informed the commissioners’ court that Governor Greg Abbott has set a new runoff election date in the race for the currently vacant Texas House District 2 seat.

Preparations under way for parades

Three Van Zandt County cities are finalizing their preparations for their Christmas parades and other holiday activities. The information for those events are as follows: Wills Point The annual Wills Point Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade as well as ‘Christmas on the Bricks’ will highlight the holiday activities for 2023.
