Van Zandt County is in the process of purchasing new voting equipment to use in future elections. In this article, I would like to explain the history of our current equipment, why we need to purchase new equipment, the process of selecting the equipment, and the features of the new equipment.

Memorial services to remember and honor Joseph Daniel “Pepe” Culver were held on Aug. 26, 2023, at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home Chapel, Wills Point. Following the service, he was laid to rest at White Rose Cemetery.

Funeral services were arranged to honor the life of Dorothy Earline Pierson, 91, in Fruitvale. The services were held Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Following the service, she was laid to rest at the Ola Cemetery in Kaufman. Visitation took place one hour before the service.

A funeral service was held for Michael Paul Fuller, 48, of Canton on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Danny LaPrade officiating.

A family gathering to honor the life of Roynald “Ronnie” Lynn Graham was heldon Monday, August 28, 2023. The gathering took place at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Edgewood, a fitting location for friends and family to come together and remember Ronnie.

Funeral services for Inez Wade, are scheduled at noon on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Russell Memorial Methodist Church in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour to service time. Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Mattie Inez Hunt Wade was born October 3, 1924, in Mount Enterprise and died August 25, 2023, in Opelika, Alabama. A native of Texas, she was born to Herman Ross Hunt and Nora Belle Hunt October 3, 192, in Mount Enterprise (Rusk County).

Services for Loyd Keith Plaster, 59, of Canton, were held Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. David Fretwell officiating.
