Vandals stay hot with 49-12 win

Area football fans likely came away with a sense of déjà vu last week as, for the second consecutive Friday night, county teams went a combined 1-5 overall on the gridiron. Van once again proved to be the exception to the rule, retaining their perfect record with a 37-point rout of Pittsburg. Other schools were not as lucky as Canton, Edgewood, Fruitvale, Grand Saline and Wills Point all suffered setbacks.

Glenda Pauline Roberts, 78, of Grand Saline, Texas, passed away on Sept. 9, 2021. She died in the nursing home where she had been for three days. She was a teacher for many years and ended her teaching career in 2005 in Special Education at Quitman Elementary School.
