The North & East Texas Press Association, in conjunction with the Texas Press Association, will once again award two $1,500 scholarships to eligible candidates at its April 27-29, 2023 convention held in Nacogdoches. Over the years, NETPA has helped college-bound journalism students with tuition and books through this scholarship program which is funded by private donations and through the annual auction held at the convention.

It’s January and 2023 is here!! It’s time to start thinking about all things new and a spirit of renewal. The library ladies are looking forward to the new year. Average gasoline prices in Texas have risen 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.83/g Jan. 9, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 14.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 3.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 2.1 cents in the last week and stands at $4.64 per gallon.
