BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Body Due to the weather forecast, TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) has postponed scheduling a closure on Interstate 20 in Van Zandt County until Monday, July 15. The closure will affect the FM 859 bridge, north of Canton, from 9 p.m.
Following a one-week delay due to rain, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning to start construction on a new bridge at the intersection of Interstate 20 and FM 859, north of Canton. The construction work is scheduled to begin July 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. During construction, the main lanes of Interstate 20 will be closed with traffic being diverted onto the frontage roads. State sales tax revenue totaled $3.9 billion in June

Body Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar recently said that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.94 billion in June, 0.4 percent more than in June 2023. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.

‘Fight Human Trafficking’ workshop set
