Martins Mill boys’ and girls’ teams playing in Feb. 19 doubleheader

The Martins Mill Mustangs and Lady Mustangs will be participating in a playoff doubleheader Monday, Feb. 19, at Slocum High School located at 5765 East State Highway 294 in Elkhart.

The doubleheader will start with the Lady Mustangs taking on Lovelady in the Class 2A Regional Quarterfinals at 6 p.m.

The Lady Mustangs are coming off an impressive 56-38 Area Championship round victory over Riesel Feb. 15.

Kara Nixon led Martins Mill in scoring with 23 points followed by Kate Lindsey with 13 points.

Following the girls’ matchup Feb. 19, the Mustangs’ boys’ basketball team will take the floor in their Class 2A bi-district contest against Groveton.

Tickets for both games are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students, cash only. District, TABC, THSCA, and senior citizen passes will be accepted.
