Ruby Nell Norman
1925- 2023
Ruby Nell (Foster) Norman, 98, of Canton gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. She was born on May 23, 1925, in Grand Saline. She lived with her parents and 10 siblings in the Wentworth Community in Canton and attended school in Grand Saline through her junior year. Her senior year, she graduated from Canton High School. She married Leslie Glenn Norman on February 28, 1942. They were blessed with three children, Brenda, Jerry, and Ralaine, and were married 61 years until his passing in May 2003.
Ruby was a Christian and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She went on many GMA trips with the girls as a chaperone. She loved to cook. She would feed anybody that walked into her home at any time of the day or night. She had many great recipes that she passed on to us. In her early years, Ruby worked at C&L grocery store for many years, then Schaefer’s, and J.B. White’s clothing stores. Later on, she still wanted to work, so she was a food demonstration lady at Walmart, where she loved greeting everyone with a smile. She loved to sew and made many outfits for her children.
Survivors include her three children: Brenda (Norman) Phillips and husband Mike of Point.
Jerry Lynn Norman and wife Merribeth of Canton. Ralaine (Norman) Greene and husband James of Springtown.
Grandchildren are: Monica Meeks of Richardson Jamie Norman of Grand Saline Corey Greene of Odessa. Collin Greene of Azle. Tommy Phillips of Canton Angie Phillips Lewis of Lone Oak. She is also survived by many great and great-great grandchildren and one remaining brother, Marion Lafrene Foster of Graham, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Eubanks Funeral Home in Canton on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
A private family graveside service was held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Cool Springs Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers were Corey Greene, Collin Greene, Matthew Snyder, Daniel Snyder, Tommy Phillips, and Cody Lewis.
