Lila Janice Freeman, of Plano passed on April 14, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on April 7, 1942, to Janie Merle and Joe Elmer Davis in Grand Saline where she grew up.

She married Joe Freeman and they lived together in Orange. They raised three beautiful children whom she adored; Angela, Joe and Brian.

Lila enjoyed camping, fishing and water skiing as a family. She also had many other adventures in children’s sports and a few misadventures, becoming on a ‘first name basis’ with local tow truck driver and ER personnel.

When her children grew up and went their own way, she moved to Dallas for work. She spent many years as a Parts Pro for Sears Appliance before retiring. She spent much of her last few years with her good friend, Thomas.

Lila was a member of Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Dallas. She truly loved the Lord. When she wasn’t reading her Bible, you could find Lila sewing, cooking, or winning at dominoes.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents, Janie Merle and Joe Elmer Davis; Her sister, Vanita Wilson; Her brother, Perry Nolan Davis; and her nephew, Steven Davis.

She is survived by her children: Angela Williams (of Carrollton), Joe Freeman (of Grapevine), and Brian Freeman (of Sanger); Her grandsons: Justin Williams, Wesley Williams, and Cody Freeman; and Her sister-in-law, Jeanie Freeman Harper.

A Celebration of Life was held at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton onApril 21, 2026.
