James Hall Carpenter was the son of J. Frank and Zelma Carpenter. He was born November 12, 1940, in Callahan County, Clyde Texas. He died on June 25, 2023.

He attended school at Denton Valley through fourth grade and graduated from Eula High School in June 1959. He joined the U.S. Army and spent three years at the U.S. Army missile base near Wasilla, Alaska.

He came home and settled in Dallas. He later joined the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) as a driver’s license patrolman in Corpus Christi. In 1970, he left DPS to attend Control Data Institute in Dallas and later worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas and Houston on developing large scale industrial computers.

He also worked for Modicon Inc. in Andover, Massachusetts in industrial computer manufacturing. In 1997, he retired to Canton to shop the great flea market.

James is survived by brothers William Rodney Carpenter, Gregory Steven Carpenter, and Bobby Jack Carpenter.
