Don Randal Hood, 83, of Canton, passed away June 11, 2025, in Canton. He was born on November 21, 1941, in Dallas to Truman and Maurine Mc-Daniel Hood.

Don grew up in Lewisville. He married Joy Kirby on May 12, 1967. Don had a long career of helping others in the car industry, first at Pontiac and then at various car dealerships around Dallas and East Texas.

He had lived in Canton for the past 46 years. Growing up, he enjoyed playing football, golf, and rabbit hunting. Don was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather.

Mr. Hood is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Joy; daughter, Terri Hood; parents, Truman and Maurine Hood; and brother, Keith Hood.

Don is survived by his two daughters; Sherri Malone and Kristi (Wes) Rhoten; three grandchildren: Ashleigh Malone, Landry (Sam) Blankenship, and Emory Rhoten; one great-grandson, Brady Samuel Blankenship; and sister, Cathy Hood.

A graveside service for family and Don’s close friends was held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Haven of Memories with Wes Rhoten officiating.
