July 14,1930 – October 2, 2024

A Celebration of Life service for Billie Gean Sutton, 94, of Canton will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Eubank Funeral Home.

Billie went to her heavenly home on October 2, 2024, in Grand Saline. She was born on July 14, 1930, in Eustace to Taylor Buford Robertson and Mary Jane Mayne Robertson.

Billie grew up in the Prairieville area and was a longtime member of Walnut Springs Baptist Church. She married her one true love, Truman Sutton, on October 6, 1945. The couple had nearly 50 wonderful and blessed years at his passing in 1995. The couple lived in Mesquite, where they raised a family. In 1987, they retired to the Canton area.

Billie was an avid animal lover and gardener; she grew the most beautiful roses. Billie enjoyed crocheting and quilting. The things she created for the home and for her family were done with love. Billie’s happy place was being outdoors; but what brought her joy was cooking and having family gatherings. Billie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved and she will be there waiting for them in heaven.

She is preceded in death by numerous family that has gone before her and that were there to celebrate her coming home to heaven.

Those here to cherish her memory are her children: daughter, Marry Graves; daughter, Margie Sheffield and husband, James; son, Bobby Sutton; grandchildren: Christy Sutton, Court Sutton and wife, Tori; Shane Sheffield and wife, Jillian, Brenda Fortner; step grandchildren, Marty Graves and family, Jim Graves and family; great grandchildren: Ethan, Emmitt, Abel, Oona, Avery, Madison, Jackson; six nieces; three nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Billie will be laid to rest next to Truman at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
