We had a great time at the Friends of the Library Book Fair last week. The sale was well attended and lots of books were sold.

On Sunday morning, Oct. 9, members of St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton gathered with their pastor, Rev. Jesudoss Thomas outside the Van Zandt County Courthouse to pray for religious freedom, the sanctity of life, the conversion of sinners, and the growth of faith, hope and love.

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer mainly occurs in middle-aged or older women. In fact, the median age at the time of a breast cancer diagnosis is 62.

Various organizations urge women to familiarize themselves with their breasts and conduct somewhat routine self-exams so they can uncover any lumps or other issues that may warrant further examination by a physician.
