For Van High School Principal Jeff Hutchins, the summer of 2022 will be one to remember for a very long time. During the month of June, Hutchins was named as the Region 7 High School Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) and then, just a few days later, was selected as the new boys’ varsity basketball coach at VHS.

Van Council appoints Heatwole to fill vacancy

Following a closed executive session at the conclusion of their regular monthly meeting July 19, the Van City Council announced the appointment of Mark Heatwole to fill the Place 2 vacancy on the council.
