Edgewood Police Department Lt. Robert Dearing and City of Edgewood Administrator Petra Marley released the following statement Sept. 20 regarding the sudden passing of Edgewood Police Chief David Hammonds Sept. 18.

One suspect is in custody following a road rage shooting resulting in the death of a female, according to a press release from the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department Sept. 20.

Thomas W. Stewart, 66, passed away on Saturday, Sept.

Mary Jane Hoover Woolverton Norman passed away in Canton on 13 September 2023. She was born in Montague to Samuel Zebordee Hoover and Ruth Ethel Haynes on 11 September 1923.

Sarah Elizabeth Norman was born Oct.12, 1928, in Midland and died peacefully Sept. 14, 2023, in Tyler. The only child of Paul and Minnie Ellenberger, she was raised in the oilfields of West and East Texas and later in Arkansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School in Arkansas in 1945 at the age of 16. In 1948, Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Texas State College for Women, now Texas Women’s University, in Denton at the age of 19.

Services for Pamela Jo Burges, 78, of Grand Saline, were held Sept. 19 at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro.

1926-2023 Lila Lee Allen Howell, a remarkable woman whose life spanned an incredible 96 years, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family during the early morning hours on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, in Tyler.

Donald John (DJ) Lovvorn passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the age of 81. DJ was born on December 29, 1941, in Waco.
