Over 100 community members attended the First Annual Back-to-School Prayer Rally held Aug. 10 at the Grand Saline ISD campuses. The rally was coordinated by community members and led in prayer by Rev. David Crain, Rev. Jeremy Tally, Rev. Randy Edwards, Rev. Kelly Krone and Rev. Wes Weruch. Community members walked to each campus praying for its students, teachers, administrators, and parents.

Terrell Police are investigating the shooting death of a Terrell High School student Wednesday morning. According to a press release from the Terrell Police Department, offi cers responded to a 9-1-1 call at 8:12 a.m.

The annual Colfax Homecoming will take place Sunday, Aug. 27, at Colfax United Methodist Church beginning at 10:30 AM.

1944-2023 Dr. Travis Deen, 78, beloved Wills Point veterinarian, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Deen Home Place, his much-loved home, pastures, and garden, after a bravely fought battle with cancer.

1926-2023 Georgia Katherine (Stanfield) Bilyeu passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the age of 97 in Van. She was born on January 12, 1926, in Leonard to parents George Edward Stanfield and Tinny Alice (Kennedy) Stanfield.

1930 - 2023 Mary Ilene Engledow, 93, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on Aug. 2, 2023, in Tyler.

1929-2023 Services for Eva Mae Wynn, 94, of Grand Saline, were held on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Main Street Baptist Church, with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.

1933-2023 Durel Z. Reid, 89, of Flower Mound went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 29, 2023.
