Vandals host number-one ranked Carthage in home season finale Oct. 28

In a season full of challenges along the way, the Van Vandals will now face their greatest test so far in 2022 as the number-one ranked team in the state in Class 4A, Division 2, the Carthage Bulldogs, will visit  Van’s Memorial Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff Friday, Oct. 28, in the final home game this season for the Vandals.

Last week’s games proved to be less than kind to Van Zandt County football programs with just one team, the Edgewood Bulldogs, finding their way into the win column. With the playoffs rapidly approaching, county teams will now have just three weeks left to lock in a top-four finish.

The Van Lady Vandals continued to tighten their grip on a top-two finish in District 16-4A last week, notching key wins over both Mabank and stateranked Brownsboro to improve their overall season record to 24-11.
