Jason Wilhelm Veihl, of Canton, has been arrested following a solicitation of prostitution operating conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety. CBS 19 issued an article regarding the arrest of nine people, eight of which are from East Texas. The arrests were made between Tuesday, May 17, and Wednesday, May 18.

There will be a public swearing-in ceremony for Van Zandt County Interim Sheriff Joe Carter beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, in the VZC Courthouse, according to VZC Judge Don Kirkpatrick.

Michael Albert Crum, 73, of Edgewood, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at his home. Michael was born on July 12, 1948, in Harvard, Illinois, to parents Edward and Kathleen Crum.

Joyce Ann Sadler Morgan, 76, of Gloucester, entered her Heavenly home to a glorious celebration welcomed by missed loved ones and already there grandbabies on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Joy was known for her red hair, singing with the Houston Opera as a teenager, owning the first Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Farm in the state of Texas, and being a strong and faithful Christian woman.

Mrs. Huerta passed away May 14, 2022, at the age of 65 years.

Services for Emma LaDell Fowler, 88, of Canton, were held Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Canton with Pastor Mike Roberson and Chaplain Bryan Grant officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories.

Jimmie Lee McEnturff was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Edgewood to Narvel Lee (Shorty) McEnturff and Ardis Brown McEnturff.

Services for Judy Ann Trussell, 74, of Grand Saline, were held Friday, May 20, 2022, at Caney Creek Cowboy Church with Bro. Randy Edwards officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Chinquapin Cemetery, Canton.
