Bible talk offered at Senior Citizens Center

“Bible Talks” will be held on from 7:30 -8:30 p.m., Nov. 10, 17 and 24 and the Canton Senior Citizen Center, 200 Groves St., Canton. Affordable health screenings coming to Canton

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox dates announced

Since 2009, more than 26.5 million children who have received an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox gift have participated in The Greatest Journey—a 12 lesson discipleship program. Children learn from trained, local volunteers what it means to follow Jesus and share their faith with friends and family.

Funeral services for Carlton Thomas Grunden, 92, of Edgewood were held Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Burial followed at Union Chapel Cemetery in Van. Carlton passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021. Carlton was born on April 18, 1929, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to parents Jake Paul Grunden and Ethel Cora Grunden.

Daniel Martin Todd, 72, of Quinlan, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Oct. 31, 2021. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at DFW National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Dan was born to Joe and Pat Todd and raised in South Carolina alongside his adored siblings, Dianne and Stan Todd. He married the love of his life, Martha Aday, and they raised Michael Chase Todd, Corey Lynn Grove and Stanford Taylor Todd in Arlington, Texas. Dan was known as “Poppy” to Hunter, his firstborn grandson, followed by Landon, Alice, Luke, Adalynn and Levi and their great-granddaughter Iris.
