Funeral services for Sara Thomas Bullard, 92, of Wills Point, were held Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church.. Services were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

A private family graveside service will be held for Mrs. Salli Schifani, 79, of Grand Saline, in Sand Flat Cemetery, with Steve Schifani, Jr.

The Wills Point Tiger tennis team had plenty to play for this week, hitting the court against chief rival Kaufman for an opportunity to advance to the Regional Tournament in Arlington Oct. 21-22.

District play was in full swing locally last week with Edgewood, Fruitvale, Grand Saline, Van and Wills Point all in action Oct. 15. County teams acquitted themselves well overall as the Bulldogs, Bobcats, Indians and Vandals all picked up key wins to boost their playoff odds.
