Funeral services for Stewart Lowell Cates, 81, of Edgewood were held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point with Pastor Mike Roberson officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Stewart passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, into the arms of Jesus at his home in Edgewood. He was born on November 5, 1944, in Lubbock to A.L. and Ila Cates.

Visitation was held Monday, March 9, 2026, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
