Sherley Jo Baugh, 78, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Cove, Texas, surrounded by her family on September 26, 2025.

Born on May 15, 1947, in Edgewood, Sherley was raised in a loving home and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1965.

Later in life, she proudly earned her Associate’s Degree in Literature from Tyler Junior College. Over the years, she called several Texas communities home, including Dallas, Baytown, Lindale, Tyler, and Cove.

Sherley was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Junior Baugh and Mary Frances Hutchins; her husband, Bob Alexander; her sister, Cathy Sue Newman; and her brothers, Jimmy Don Newman, John Patrick Baugh, and Jeffery Jay Baugh.

She is survived by her daughter, Caren Leslie Cheatham (Paul Penny); her son, Charles Brent Cheatham (Judy Cheatham); granddaughters, Codi Leslie Huff, Jami Lynn Huff (Robert Dalton Harrison), and Amanda Grace Cheatham (Dominic Davis); grandsons, Dustin Chase Cheatham (Kelsey Cheatham) and Thomas Dawson Cheatham (Robyn Cheatham); and her great-grandson, Brantley Taylor Schoolcraft.
