A funeral celebrating the life of Sadie Ann Plaster, 88, of Canton was held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Sadie went home to the Lord on January 20, 2024, in Grand Saline.

She was born on February 24, 1935, in Canton to Irvin Jessie Weaver and Vivian Haynes Weaver. Sadie married the love of her life, James, when she was 14 years old. Together, they had three children; Annette, Gary and Donna. She was a homemaker, and her life was her family. Sadie was affectionately known as “Memaw” to her grandchildren and so many others. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family, playing ‘42,’ traveling and in her younger days, fishing. She also enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Old Bethel and Whitton Quilting Clubs. Her family looked forward to her homemade gifts of quilts, pillowcases, aprons and clothing. Sadie even sewed both of her daughters’ wedding dresses. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and her faith was important to her.

Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Vivian Weaver; and beloved husband, James Plaster.

She is survived by her children: Annette Haberer and husband, George; Gary Plaster; Donna Dover and husband, Nolan; grandchildren: James B. Plaster, Chad Haberer and wife, Tammy, Nicole Edington and husband, Jimmy, Joci Luchenburg, Amanda Sterling, Melinda Watts and husband, Matthew, Marilee Sutton and husband, Travis, Sarabeth Woods and husband, Richard; and 10 great grandchildren.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the funeral home. Final resting place was at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
