Services for Mr. Robert D’Wayne Nix, 52, of Fruitvale, were held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Billy Pannell, Eddie Paul Stanley, and Bailey McCartney officiating.

Mr. Nix passed away May 24, 2024, at his home in Fruitvale. He was born July 28, 1971, in Fort Worth. He lived most of his life in Grand Saline and Fruitvale, where he graduated from Grand Saline High School, Class of 1990. He served his country in the US Navy from 1995-1999 and was on the USS George Washington. Robert worked as an aircraft mechanic for 24 years, with the last 15 years at L-3 in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia Carol Brown; grandmother, Thelma Williams; aunt, Vickie Quaid; grandfather, Robert E. Williams; and niece, Sandra Nix.

Survivors include wife, Nicole Nix of Fruitvale; father- in-law and mother-in-law, Wylie and Diane Stone of Fruitvale; three daughters, Bonnie Nix of Grand Saline, Madison Phillips of Greenville, and Bailey Mc-Cartney and husband, Sean, of Roxton; three sons, David Dunigan II and wife, DaLainee, of Cooper, Dustin Stone and wife, Tiffany, of Fruitvale, and Brody Nix of Fruitvale; sister, Tracy Nix of Fruitvale; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bryan & Felecia Erwin of Grand Saline, and Roby & Traci Robinson of Fruitvale; seven grandchildren, Cohlt Wade, Kenley Dunigan, Emersyn Beltran, Cohen Stone, Lakoda Stone, Dawson Dunigan, and one on the way, Kai Robert McCartney; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Kevin Kenny, Tony Fitzgerald, Jason Sanders, Paul Iley, Mike Dodson, John Hope, and Roby Robinson.

The family received friends Friday, May 31, 2024, at the funeral home.
