Services for Mike Langran will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at New Beginnings Community Church, 105 VZCR 4807, Ben Wheeler, Texas 75754 with Dr. Shelby Davidson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Colfax Cemetery next to his wife, Chris. Pallbearers will be: Daniel Norris, Nathan Sample, Ronnie Sample, Dusty Huff, and Ethan Gonzales.
Richard Michael “Mike” Langran was born September 18, 1937, in Dallas, Texas. He was currently a resident of Ben Wheeler. Mike went to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Mike was a very devout soldier in the army of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chris and his parents, Kenneth & Pauline Langran; son, Allen; and great-granddaughter, Aliah.
In his early years, he lived in Houstin during WWII before moving to Grand Prairie and Dallas, where he attended Dallas ISD. As a child, he worked on a paper route. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1955, and then worked at a bakery while attending UNT, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He served in the Navy Reserves from 1955-1961.
Mike spent the majority of his career in the baking industry – he retired from Mrs. Baird’s after 25 years. He also worked for Zales Jewelry and retired a second time. He enjoyed collecting antiques, playing Trivial Pursuit, and watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He was hardworking; he dabbled in carpentry, landscaping, and country living just to name a few.
In 1982, he met and married Chris at Debonair. Between the two, they had 5 children – Rory, Angie, Allen, Ronnie, and Mary; eight grandchildren, Kellie, Amber, Jacob, Daniel, Nathan, Sophia, Aurora, and Ethan; and five great-grandchildren, Aliah, Mackenzie, Piper, Lucia, and Erin. In addition to his children, Mike is survived by his brother, Charles Langran.
He wants to be remembered as a simple, hardwork-Dennis ing, Godly, family man.
