A funeral service for Melvin “Lynn” Rodgers, 64, of Edgewood was held on Friday, June 23, 2023, following a visitation at Eubank Funeral Home, with Bro. Butch Cunningham officiating.
Lynn went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family on June 20, 2023, in Tyler. He was born on Sept. 11, 1958, in Grand Saline to James Melvin Rodgers and Edna Faye King Rodgers.
Lynn grew up in the Canton area. He married his true love, Rhonda Burton, on Nov. 2, 1982. The couple shared 40 wonderful years together. Lynn was a simple and humble man. He was a friend you could depend on. Lynn was all about family and his pride was his grandchildren. Lynn enjoyed going to all their sporting events and extracurricular activities. With Lynn, family always came first. He enjoyed going to the casinos and a relaxing night watching TV, but what made him happiest was time with his beloved wife, daughters, grandchildren, and extended family. Lynn will live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents: father, James Melvin Rodgers, mother, Edna Faye Watkins, stepfather, John Hardy Watkins; son in-law, Danny Duecker; brother, Mickey Couch; nephew, Scott Couch.
Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Rodgers; daughters, Leslie Duecker, Candace Mooring and husband, Marty; grandchildren, Brandon Duecker, Carly Mooring, Brody Mooring; sister, Dianna Morgan and husband, Larry; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family of aunt, uncles, cousins; and a host of good friends.
