Loretta died peacefully in the arms of Jesus with her family by her side on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, in Dallas. She was born in Dallas on May 1, 1938, to parents Hugh Eugene and Hazel Inez Adkins Jones.

Funeral services for Loretta Gene (Jones) Sims, 85, were scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Edgewood. A burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held Jan. 5, 2024, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.
