Jimmie Matt Watson, 87, of Canton, passed away September 7, 2024, in Quitman. He was born November 19, 1936, in Wilbarger County to James Ray and Linnie Marie Corgill Watson. Jimmie was a Baptist by faith. He lived in Lancaster before moving to Canton in 1989. He worked for Glitsch as a welder and then as an inspector of oil field equipment. Jimmie enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Watson is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dr. Patricia Turner; son, Jim Allen Watson; and daughter, Terry Watson. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Barbara Watson; son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Pam Watson; two grandsons: Samuel and Will Watson; two sisters: Helen and Johnny Segovia and Twilia Jean Watson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his hunting buddies: Steve Swinney, David Garner, Daniel and Jennifer Ramirez.
