Dennis Wayne Shaw, 74, of Joshua, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Baylor, Scott, & White All Saints Medical Center.Dennis was born in Dallas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Adnel and Winnie Shaw and sisters, Brenda Blankenship and Paula Shaw.

In addition to his wife Diana, Dennis is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Denise Shaw Harmon and husband, Mike; son, Samuel David Shaw and wife, Elizabeth; stepson, William Hall and wife, Elia; stepdaughter, Jessica Robertson and husband, Chris; stepdaughter, Amanda Schweinberg and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Austin Reep, Ashli Shaw, Lili Shaw, Randy Harmon, Stephanie Harmon, Mark Aguirre, Cristina Watson, Allison Kennedy, Mac Robertson, and Adam Burgett; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emmett, Reign, Aiden, Mason, Witten, Isaiah, Daelyn, and Camila; nephew, Brendan Blankenship and Haylee; niece, Celie Pyle and Tony and many close family and friends.

As a young man, Dennis excelled at playing football, track and basketball as a Canton Eagle. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a natural born leader and led with a servant’s heart.

He was a business owner and manager, spending the majority of his professional career in retail business. He considered his co-workers his “Sam’s Family”. Later in life, he cultivated his own culinary flare and became known by many as “Chef D”.

Visitation and memorial service were held at Convergence Church, 5745 James Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76134.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A memorial service was held on Dennis’ 75 th birthday on Friday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
