A celebration of life for Darla Denise Pearce, 48, of Greenville, Texas, was held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.

Darla passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, in Tyler.

Darla Denise Pearce was born on Nov. 4, 1972, in Dallas, Texas, to parents

R.A. Pearce and Mable Smith. In her youth, Darla was raised in Mesquite before moving to Edgewood and graduating from Edgewood High School. She was employed by Dallas County as a clerk and a detention officer. Darla was very crafty and made the flowers for her daughter Kara’s wedding. She also enjoyed crocheting and making her grandkids blankets. She primarily enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, R.A. Pearce, Mable Smith and infant sister, Mitzi Kay Foote.

Darla is survived by her daughters, Kimber Whitfield and James of Greenville, Kara Dukes and husband, Derek of Greenville, and Kristina Whitfield and Ethan of Canton; brothers, Kerry Foote of Tavernier, Florida and Shane Pearce of Tyler; sister, Dianna Adams and husband, Zech of Edgewood; stepmother Karen Pearce of Van; stepfather Roger Smith of Greenville; and grandchildren, Alexis Dukes, Emma Dukes, Kennedy Dukes, Alice Dukes, Lauren Grizzell, Kaydence Burrage, Raylee Burrage, Hayden Burrage, Mia Maxwell, Aubrey Hill, Holly Hill and Jase Sneed.
