Carolyn Nichols Beach, 98, of Wills Point, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Dallas Regional Hospital.
Carolyn Nichols was born on Dec. 15, 1923, to the late Oscar and Winnie Nichols in Sherman. She graduated from Van Alstyne High School in 1941. Carolyn married her late husband, Harlan Beach, on Aug. 21, 1948, in Athens. Together they moved to Wills Point from Garland in June of 1964. She was a member of First Christian Church of Wills Point. Carolyn was a Psychiatric Nurse at Timberlawn Hospital from 1943 to 1947. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, reading, canning, raising chickens, and taking care of her cats and poodles. Carolyn was the President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and Secretary of the First Christian Church in Wills Point.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Brenda Beach Petillo; grandchildren, Eric Sockwell and Melissa Cooper; great-grandchild, Wade Cooper, along with nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Bennett and Winnie Tipton Nichols; husband, Harlan “Dick” Beach; brothers, Rev. Clyde Nichols and William E. Nichols; sister, Allene Grubbs, and son-in-law, Bobby Petillo.
Funeral services were held for Carolyn Nichols Beach on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Mullin- Fuller Funeral Home. Carolyn will be laid to rest privately at Old Mesquite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 203 N. 3rd, Wills Point.
